GUTTMAN INSTITUTE
At Espinaler, we believe that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is essential to build a fairer and more caring future. For this reason, since 2021 we have been collaborating with the Guttmann Institute, a reference hospital in neurorehabilitation located in Badalona (Barcelona). Guttman Institute specialises in the medical-surgical treatment and comprehensive rehabilitation of people (adults, young people and children) with spinal cord injury, acquired brain damage or other neurological disabilities.
It provides specialised, comprehensive, continuous and personalised neurorehabilitation care of the highest human, scientific and technical standards. It attends patients from all over the world: 73% are patients from Catalonia, 18% from the rest of Spain and 9% from the rest of the world.
Through an annual collaboration programme, Espinaler donates the profits obtained from the sale of a solidarity batch of Espinaler products to the Guttmann Institute foundation. This donation has contributed to the development of various projects for the benefit of patients:

2021
Project dedicated to innovation and research in neuroscience, as well as to the defence of equal opportunities for people with disabilities.
2022
Various care projects aimed at improving the quality of life of patients at Guttmann Institute.
2023 – Present
The Heart of Guttmann Project, an initiative to transform and create the new Functional Rehabilitation Area of the Guttmann Institute, a space through which most of its patients pass, all of them with a neurological affectation caused by a spinal cord injury or brain damage. A project that requires an architectural solution and the most advanced technology to provide a better service to all these people.
At Espinaler, we are proud to collaborate with the Institut Guttmann and contribute to its important social work. We believe that solidarity and support for people with disabilities are fundamental values that should be present in every company’s CSR.
